Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Chain Games and its affiliates collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you download, install, access, or play Chain Reaction (the "Game"), visit chainreaction.win (the "Site"), or otherwise interact with our products, communities, and services (together, the "Services").
By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services. This policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through gameplay, and information collected automatically when you use the Services.
Information you provide
- Account details — such as your username, display name, email address, and password.
- Profile & preferences — avatar, in-game settings, loadouts, and communication preferences.
- Support & communications — messages you send to our support team, bug reports, survey responses, and correspondence on our social channels or Discord.
- Transactions — records of in-game purchases, rewards, and entitlements. Payment card details, where applicable, are processed by third-party payment providers and are not stored by us.
Information generated through gameplay
- Gameplay & performance data — matches played, game modes, maps, kills, deaths, scores, rankings, CHAIN earned, progression, and achievements.
- In-game communications — text chat and, where enabled, voice chat. Chat may be monitored or recorded to enforce our rules and protect players (see Section 4).
- Anti-cheat & integrity data — information used to detect cheating, exploits, fraud, and prohibited software in order to keep matches fair.
Information collected automatically
- Device & technical data — device and hardware identifiers, operating system, system specifications, language, and crash/diagnostic logs.
- Network data — IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and connection information.
- Usage & analytics data — how you interact with the Site and Game, pages or screens viewed, session length, referral source, and similar metrics collected via cookies and analytics tools (see Section 5).
Blockchain & Wallet Data
Chain Reaction is a play-and-earn game built on blockchain technology. When you connect a digital wallet or earn, hold, or transact CHAIN tokens, certain information is created and recorded:
- Public wallet address — the blockchain address you connect to the Services.
- On-chain activity — token balances, transfers, rewards, and transactions associated with your wallet, including those carried out through the Game.
Blockchain data is public and permanent.
Transactions recorded on a public blockchain (such as Polygon or the Chain Games L3 Gaming blockchain) are transparent, immutable, and irreversible. We do not control these networks and cannot edit, delete, or anonymize information once it is written on-chain. A wallet address may be linked to your identity by you or by third parties. Consider the privacy implications before connecting a wallet or making on-chain transactions.
We do not have custody of, and never ask for, your wallet's private keys or seed phrase. Never share your private keys or recovery phrase with anyone, including anyone claiming to represent Chain Reaction.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Game, the Site, and related Services.
- Create and manage your account, authenticate you, and deliver rewards, entitlements, and CHAIN token payouts.
- Run matchmaking, leaderboards, progression, and other gameplay features.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent cheating, fraud, abuse, and violations of our rules, and to keep matches fair and secure.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Understand how players use the Services through analytics so we can improve performance, balance, and design.
- Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, events, and — where permitted — marketing and promotions.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Where required by law (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR), we rely on legal bases including your consent, performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services, and compliance with legal obligations.
Third-Party Services
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party platforms — such as Epic Games Store, GitHub (where builds are hosted), digital wallet providers, and social platforms including Discord, X (Twitter), Facebook, TikTok, and Telegram. These third parties operate independently and have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices, and we encourage you to review their policies before using them.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain your account, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it. Note that information already recorded on a public blockchain cannot be deleted by us.
Data Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and wallet keys confidential.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Objection & restriction — object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing.
- Portability — receive your information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, these rights arise under the GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — and we will not discriminate against you for exercising them. To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 14. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 18 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Players who are minors in their jurisdiction should only use the Services with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
International Data Transfers
Chain Reaction is played globally. Your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your own, including countries that may have different data protection laws. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your information when it is transferred internationally.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
